The Seven Stage Process

ABS makes the whole process of acquiring school portables as easy as possible with its seven stage process:

1. Planning

The planning stage involves finding the ideal site for your portable classroom. In this stage, ABS can introduce you to general contractors, who will obtain building permits and utility connections, and civil engineers for zoning and water management.

2. Proposal

After the initial planning stage, ABS will present a proposal outlining its pricing and recommendations for the project as well as specifications, technical clarifications and the scope of work. At the same time, the civil engineer will begin to pursue approval to install a modular building on your site.

3. Contract

A potentially boring but important part of the process is signing the agreement between yourself and ABS. This is to make sure both sides understand what the project entails and what to expect of each other.

4. Drawing

Soon after signing the contract, ABS will begin to draw up designs for your portable classroom and will present them to you, alongside material and color samples, for your approval.

5. Building

This is where all the work starts to pay off. Foundation work and clearing and grading, if needed, will take place on-site at the same time as the classroom starts the manufacturing process. This usually takes between eight and 10 weeks.

6. Installation

The finished building is delivered to site and the ABS crew begins the installation. This can take as little as three days, depending on the size and complexity of the classroom. When the portable classroom is in place, the general contractor connects all utilities.

7. Completion

With everything complete, you and ABS can inspect the building together to ensure you’re happy with the outcome.
